Wedding Decoration
Decorations can help turn a somewhat typical function room into a breath-taking fairytale vision that dreams are made of.
Your wedding reception decorations are an area - you have the opportunity to express yourself and show your style - co-ordinate your wedding theme. The decorations help to set the tone of your wedding; unfortunately it is also an easy opportunity for you to overspend. Do not buy the first things that you see only tofind somthing better or more suitable only to leave the first item purchased o collect dust and not be used. Think, set a budget and plan before you buy do not over purchase. Some couples are lucky to get some decorations inclued in their wedding package, so check with the venue what is provided and what it is acceptable, some venues do not allow candles, others do not allow confettie being thrown on the bride and groom. Take photographs of the venue go plan the location of decorations and the type of decorations that will suit your purpose. Try to imagine what it will look like, thus it will becom clear which decorations will be successful and which ones are unsuitable for your particulr setting.
It is important to consider such factors as:
-
Colour scheme
-
Mood setting
-
Available space
-
Time of the Year and Day
-
Family Traditions
-
Number of Guests
-
Budget
You may consider decorations for the following areas:
-
Altar and pews
-
Guest book and pen
-
Chair backs
-
Tables
-
Walls, gates, doors, fireplaces, door handles and bannisters
-
Gift or Cake Table
-
Ceilings / Floors.
-
Bathrooms
-
Getaway Car
Remember that locations that are already heavily decorated due to the festive season being present may requir less or even no wedding decorations at all.
To save money you can:
-
Recruit the assistance of freinds in setting up and transporting making it part of a fun day.
-
Consider using the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets as decorations on the tables.
-
Make your own wish tree for guests to hang well wishes on for the bride and groom by using long twigs, remove the leaves and spray in your chosen colour.
-
Have a vase with fruit or decorative rocks to hold in place flowers this looks great as table centres in clear vases. To get the fruit to stay underwater fill vases with water first, then wedge fruit or flowers againts vase these make lovely different arrangements.
-
Add light with the use of candles, lanterns, rope lights or christmas lights. Also consider wraping rope lights in tulle to add to the effect.
-
Surf the net there are many innovative ideas to be found
-
Paper Table cloths with pens to write well wishes on whilst seated are great for memories of the day.
-
Consider using rose petals dried by you especially for the day as confetti at the church rolled simply into wrapping paper.
-
Decorate with pictures of your courtship, childhood or even your parents wedding.
-
Watch for clearance sales of seasonal merchandise which can e incorporated into your wedding decor.
I am sure you are aware that balloons add a sparkle to any function with stunning walkthrough archways, spiral garlands and creative table centres of beautiful pearlised colour coordinating latex or foil balloons will totally transform and enhance the venue of your choice. Sculptured hearts and exploding balloons creating a shower of confetti or baby balloons will certainly impress your guests.
Ice sculptures an chocolate or champagne fountains remember can make a great centrepiece.
