The Best Man
One of the traditional pre-wedding rituals is the stag night, so called because only male guests are invited organised by the best man and traditionally taking place the evening prior to the wedding, although nowadays usually some time before to prevent the wrath of the bride and her mother should the groom not be feeling well on the day.
It is the Best Mans duty to protect the groom from all omens of bad luck and to ensure that once the groom has commenced his journey to church he is not sidetracked for any reason.
Tradition has it that the Best Man should arrange for the groom to carry a mascot or good luck charm on his person on his way to church.
When the Best Man pays the church fees as tradition has it he should pay an odd sum of money to ensure good luck for the couple.
The traditional decorating of the going away car with ‘just married’ signs etc. befalls upon the Best Man who must remember to tie on the old shoes to the back of the car for good luck.
FINALLY MAY I WISH YOU ALL
GOOD LUCK |
