Wedding Favours

Bomboniere or favours are now becoming an essential part of any wedding celebration; they originate in Italy, but were present in this country during Victorian times.

It is the custom to put five sugared almonds in a lace bag or box and present them to the guests as a long lasting keepsake of the special occasion.

The five sugared almonds represent Health, Wealth, Happiness, Prosperity and Fertility.

They are either distributed by the bridesmaids as the guests leave the church or used as an ornamental table decoration at the reception, either individually at each table setting or in a basket as an alternative to a floral display.

The many style and concoctions they are available in is mind blowing and you should have lots of fun designing your own we the aid of a specialist in their production.

It is also becoming popular to use other items as tokens such as chocolate bars, minature spirits or items with which the bride and groom identify with.
