Having decided you are going to get married the first decision needs to be when?

Saturday appears to be the traditional day for weddings, but more and more couples are considering Sunday and mid week, due to the availability of venue points and the fact that many wedding services offer discounts for Sunday and mid-week weddings.

They are also more relaxed occasions since Saturday is also traditionally shopping day and many find themselves rushing around to do the shopping prior to attending the wedding.

Although as I said the majority of couples marry on Saturday, the old saying goes:

Monday for health,

Tuesday for wealth,

Wednesday, the best day of all.

Thursday for loses,

Friday for crosses,

Saturday, no luck at all.

The majority of weddings take place between May and September due to the good weather, but here once again many couples consider out of season weddings to take advantage of discounts and more easy availability of venue points.

Summer weddings are considered fortunate,

But the ‘best’ season for weddings is between Harvest and Christmas.

When supplies for the wedding feast are most plentiful.

Marry in September’s shine your living will be rich and fine.

If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.

If you wed in bleak November, only joy will come remember.

When December showers fall fast, marry and true love will last.
